Look what I still have lying around the studio. I love this thing as much as one can love a molded piece of brass.

I would be remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity to thank Scott Cornell of Autumn Clock and 33 On The Needle fame for the ice bell, as he was its original owner.

Yup. I was talking to someone about that one ice bell from that one Fragile song just last week. And Tim Dow used one for one note on the beginning of Brooks. I always wondered if one of you got the idea from the other one?
@James: I dunno. I’m drawing a blank in re the opening of “Brooks” right now; though I bought that 7″ from them way back in the day at the old Cicero’s, I believe. But I don’t recall that being an influence on me to use mine. Pretty sure I got mine from Scott circa ’91 or so (?). Hmmm…
Hey Mark!
How ya been?! Just stumbled upon this page and had to laugh about that old bell. Yep, it was the first one I bought before replacing it with the one I currently use (still). Has to go back at least to ’90-’91. Glad to see (and hear) it went to good use! I wondered what you did with that thing. I think you had the one and only cowbell that I ever owned too…;) Good stuff. Take care and keep in touch!
Scott
@Scott: Yes! The cowbell with the Dr. Scholl’s pads stuck inside it. I don’t have that anymore, but I DO have a similar, brand new one that I bought to play one Blues Explosion song at an FPM show a while back. Kind of a limited-useage item on a drum kit, eh?
Great to hear from you!
Great to finally get back in touch with you. We just hooked up with Tim O’Saben and Rob Wagoner recently and our bands have been playing some gigs together. That’s been great. Hey, 33OTN is playing at The Big Muddy in Alton on May 15th if you’re interested/available to hang with us. Otherwise, maybe we can figure out somtetime to get together and catch up. Been a long time….
I’ll definitely have to make it to a show soon, Scott. Cheers!
