BIO
Mark A. Heinz
For an entire generation of St. Louis rock fans, Mark Andrew Heinz will always be known as the percussive spine of Fragile Porcelain Mice, the rock powerhouse that’s been playing St. Louis-area (and national) stages for nearly 20 years, with four albums to their collective credit. Showing both muscularity and finesse in his playing, Heinz has done more than his share to shape the group’s angular, precise, and yet extremely visceral rock’n’roll sound.
But in addition to his stellar work behind the kit, Heinz has been involved in a growing group of media forms over the past decade.
As a recording engineer, he’s distinguished himself with work for his own group, as well as such notable St. Louis regional acts as Shame Club, Glory for Champions, and Ring, Cicada. Comfortable in a variety of roles in the studio, Heinz has worked in all phases of the recording process, including mastering, engineering, and production.
As a web designer and production artist, he’s brought his keen eye to varied settings, from attention-grabbing poster design to the execution of multipage websites.
SwingStomp.com knits together all his varied interests, with links to his production work, his band’s official site, a blog, and more. It’s his self-dubbed “be-all end-all, one-stop Internet nerd-spot” launched in May 2009.
Born in Peoria, IL, on 23 November 1971, Heinz lives in the St. Louis area.
